I s'pose. If you want, I'm sure I could find a use for the money but I would have been happy with a straight swap.

Still got this and still chugging along with it.
It's at my dad's place now because i don't have the space in my new place, but he's been doing various bodywork stuff on it in between working on his own cars.

Engine is out and gearbox is out.
I'll rebuild the motor (thinking stock bottom end, ported head, mild cam and my SU's rebuilt and put back on) just for a fun street motor.
4 speed will be replaced with a 5 speed, i've got an OEM AC setup to put in as well from a 200B i pulled apart probably 7 years ago now.

Tried finding a better bonnet than my rusty (and bodged up for rego) one.
Couldn't find one (seems mine was maybe even one of the better ones! :|) so dad fixed it for me.

So this is where it sits now, engine bay cleaned up (surprisingly my old rattle can respray of the engine bay still looks ok....ish!) ready for a rub back.

Good to see it's still around and getting a makeover

Given some of the bonnets I have seen you have quite a 'good' one.

Haha yeah the old bonnet rust issue....
Good thing my dad has retired and spends all his time playing cars or it'd still just be sitting!
I've just rebuilt the CA20 in my Gazelle (and i have space at my place for engine rebuilding) so i'm feeling primed to rebuild the L20B now so at least the mechanical side should come together too.
Apart from the engine and clutch the rest of it was pretty good last time i drove it (i think i might need to do master cylinders now though), so shouldn't be a huuuge job to get it back on the road again.

Engine is now apart :).
Pistons look very clean (they've been wiped down a bit in the photos but still!)
Mains look a little worn?
Big ends fine.
Chunky looking crank compared to the CA20 i just put together.
I thought it could be because the CA20 crank is a longer throw but it's only 86mm vs 88mm.

Now that i look at it more closely i think the L20B crank looks so chunky because it has twice as many counterweights.

Dad has done some more work over the weekend :).
A tiny spot of rust at the top of the windscreen (behind the plastic clip that the windscreen trim mounts to). Engine bay has had the surface rust taken off around the masters.

Also the machine shop says that the block just needs a hone, so no boring out or new pistons required. Which is nice :).

Another update. Dad has been busy putting my shiz together for me. One of the bellhousing brackets doesn't fit the 5 speed for some reason but other than that and the speedo drive being on the opposite side to the 4 speed it's been smooth sailing it seems.
