Is an L28 allowed?

Consult the relevant rule book would be my first action.

Lurch it seems yes he is allowed L28 and is in Europe
he wants me to find an LY head for 3d scanning but
so far one owner is not keen on 3000usd just to have
someone go over and scan his one that is for sale.
The sale price is offers over 100k usd so it was a tall order.

He feels he needs the LY head but Im trying to convince him
that Im sure its not considering what Ive seen from Les and
TKs effort on his first L20b engine.

Anyone know what is the upper end hp for an L series 6 these days?

The best Ive heard in the past was Simon Phillips 260z with almost 290+hp
using 50mm itbs (not sure who built it datrallye tuned though) but thats an
old build and its probably fair to say a bit more is possible today?

This one does not count its just massive capacity!!!! :D

He was thinking as they are not allowed to weld material to the head in FIA
rules for Europe that a well re-shaped e30 or some kind of P90 with the right effort
could make more hp with revs due to its limiting design.

I was suggesting Wes Engines roller rockers to go with his choice of titanium
valves and other bits as used in his 510 which uses an FIA head I sourced for him.
His FIA 510 engine uses titanium bits throughout and plans the same for the L6

Les Collins built L28 - 310hp on triple 45's:

Not knocking such a nice sounding effort with power most would be happy with in their Z
but to beat the porkas he needs 120hp per litre
Due to the restrictive design of the heads they would only be able to make more hp with
rpm rather than capacity so 8500-8700 redline would be ideal providing all else is spot on.
