Today we went to put on the new rear wheel cylinders on our 1600.

On the non piston side where the rectangle shape thing is, that the shoe buts up against(hope that makes sense)on the old cylinders they are not covered on the ends. With the new ones the rectangle things have a bit of alluminium casting covering(just a small bit) each end of the rectangle bit.

Do I need to remove that bit of casting to allow the rectangle thing to move or somehting?

Does what I am saying make sense?

Gee these datsun are complicated compared to my mustang
