 Post subject: r31 shock in 200b struts

would r31 shockies fit into 200b struts if the struts were cut down to the right lenght, -50mm?? or are the diameters of the strut diffrent????

I got this done recently.
They cut down the 200b tube and welded a new thread on the top.
Then they welded a steel ring (spacer) on the bottom of the R31 strut insert to make it all fit properly.
By the way I used 30mm lowered King springs, Noltec adjustable strut tops,whiteline swaybar, KYB inserts and KYB mono shocks on the back (180b sss).
Really impressed with this setup but I do need more negative camber.
Also considering a rear swaybar and a rear camber kit.

Did you fit R31 tops :?:
The R31 top has neg camber in the std position & has plenty neg adjustment.
If additional camber is reguired on those tops they must
have the inside of the sliding plate ground down so that it
will not foul on the inner panel.
Nice ride with the KYBs :wink:
