Okay, took the car to scrutineering tonight, and was left revving it in the middle of the road...
5.1 in a 240K R180 housing, with a welded centre. The Crownwheel and Pinion aren't that old (Late 2002), and have only done <8 rallies. Was set up by a professional diff shop for pinion depth and such.
All the crownwheel bolts had sheared, and were sitting in the bottom of the diff when we pulled the rear hat off. And a couple had made a daring attempt at escaping through the top of the diff housing, leaving a 5 cent piece sized hole on the top left of the diff, and some great gouge marks inside.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I'm planning on Dev-Conning the diff housing, and re-installing the crownwheel on the centre with UnBrako bolts, predrilled for lockwiring?
Suggestions/Thoughts/Derision?
