slightly off topic, but with aftermarket ECU's, is it possible to have two maps set, and to switch between the two, say if i were to run a blower with a clutch, so when its off i could change maps so it wouldnt run like a pig.
just i've seen some eaton blower's off Merc's that have a clutch setup similar to the SC12/14's
With some ECUs it is yes. Microtech for example. Autronic SMC requires you to have the laptop to switch between them, dunno about SM2+.
I used to run my SC14 off most of the time then just turn it on and have a little squirt every now and then. Was very slow with it off, but still ran just fine, would rev up just as high as you'd like but was just a total slug. I still drove it like that 90% of the time I might add.
Pro, Why would you turn the clutch on at 3000 while you're driving? Surely you would turn it on manually then drive it. The idea dave had I think was to have that switch change the maps as well.
