I spose it they would go along good with my nuclear rod gear stick.

i have sorta thought that they will not fit on the grille but before the wipers because of the bonnet but maybe on the bonnet itself??

Hope that oil pressure guage isn't 100% mechanical

Any one spell disaster when oil line ruptures while driving car in rain

Hot oil over windscreen

Fun
Fun

Hmm, it is full mechanical.

Deffinatly not legal.

I couldn't agree more.
Such a nice 1600, what with the Weber fed L-motor !!
Ruined by those guages on the bonnet.

For petes sake don't get mechanical guages. :tsktsk:
They were fine until electricity was discovered.

Honestly.

I have had all guages needed/wanted fitted to cars in the past.

You watch them like a hawk for three weeks or so, then you forget they are there.

One thing I did do was place a large tacho where the clock or blanking plate was, and fitted some high powered led's to the top of shroud to replace the oil, charge and handbrake light.

I feel something like that is something more usefull.

As you are visually alerted straight away, exactly when you need it.

You will normally miss a problem with guages.

I have also seen people ad guages to top of dash, with handmade binnicle moulded into the dash.

i will be getting a 3 3/8 speedo and tacho. not to worry about the mech gauge as seeing it on that other 1600 made me rethink it a touch. i might just stick with the idea of 3 x 2/16 in the stero hole thing below the heater controls.

graham

didt you have any links for other pics of interior/dash

Here are a couple of pics of my gauge setup. They are electrical not mechanical though. The three gauges in the middle are housed in an Autometer triple gauge holder which fits in the Datto radio hole without modifications.
