Heres a couple of photos of my Cherry's I have.

This is the first car I brought.

This is the second car I brought and will be used for parts and possibely a 2nd car. I shipped it across to Tasmania from South Australia.
[ img ]

This is the 3rd car I got and this was found in Tasmania. The owner gave me the car for nothing.
[ img ]

This is the Coupe that I had been trying to find for a few years now.
[ img ]

I now own this car and am waiting for it to be shipped over to Tasmania from Victoria.
[ img ]

Well I picked up the car and its not in as good a shape as I first thought( a few rust bubbles and crows feet in the paint) but still I now have a Coupe. I wonder if I can find myself a estate(wagon) some where in Australia?

A nice set of wheels that I had sitting in the shed.
(They where on it in the first hour I had it home).

As you can see I am a sick man and have been bitten with the Cherry bug. I now own 4 out of the 9 Cherrys I know of in Australia.

I have heard of a guy putting an A14 with 5 speed out of a N10 Pulsar into one but had trouble with the gear selection (had to hold it in some gears.

I would love to get hold of an early N10 Pulsar and try this out.

I dont think an e15et would fit. Only because the original gear box in the cherry are mounted under the engine like in a mini. but has its own oil supply. I measured up the engine in a Micra and with the gearbox it would be to wide for the engine bay.

I suspose with enough money and some cutting and shutting you could fit any thing in there but thats not what I got the cars for.

thats because the other 991 owners have never bothered to figure out what kinda car they are...

:P

good on you, at least they belong to some one who actually cares about em. Hopefully you can make at least one nice car out of them.

Dazzas_Ute: Geez I hope there is that many more out there then getting parts for them wouldnt be a problem (Im sourcing them from England and Japan).
Most of the cars here in Aust are Private Imports only 4 where brought out here for testing and then Datsun decided that the were not suitable for the Australian condtions and market.

TD: They do actually have a racing history mainly in the Japanese home series but some were raced in other countries also. The Coupe was the car used for most of the Circuit racing and the sedan for the rally racing.

Any updates you can give us on these?

I think I've seen you on a UK Datsun forum also :)
