Well here is my daily road car.

Its a 1974 1 Lady onwer (my Nana) Datsun Violet aka KP710 or 160Jsss

Shes got a bit of rust in her as has lived by the beach all her life, Has been garaged though. Got a hole lot of sentimental value has this car so will be rebuilt back to stock when time allows.

For now its as you see it sorry i thought i had more photos.

Engine: L20B Hi Comp (had bout 3mm shaved from the A87 head)
Fully rebuilt 1000Kms ago new rods pistons the lot.

Gearbox: R30 Skyline 5Speed not the best of condition,
but i have a couple more got a Turbo box might give that a
freshen up and put that in.

Diff: Subaru Legacy LSD 3.7:1

Honda CRX Seats, CD player with 10 Disk Stacker.

Have the original Engine (L16sss) Diff and 4speed gearbox from car pulled it out cos it was shagged. Would bearly start was so low on compression (although with the 4speed and stock diff still pulled 208km/h on a flat road).

L20B Power really need to get the Carbs retuned its chokeing at above 5000rpm

Gee's Unlimited, these are a bit of a Holy Grail, after years of being teased by the works rallys cars and not being able to buy them, its great to see one. The only one I've seen in the flesh was an L series powered, work's replica in the first Targa Tas back in '92 (along with a East Africa Safari replica 1600 sss!) I recently read an article on the car in Aust.RallySport News, and the owner has found an FZ headed ex works engine to fit in it, which should liv'n it up a bit!

So are they easy to find in NZ?? and do you have it over here or is it in NZ? I bet George, Ross and the rest wished they had the SR20 driveline in your other one fitted in the 70's? That must of been a hell of a good std L16 to do 200kph!!!!

Yea there not real hard to find in NZ put it this way i would be able to buy proberly 4 of them in the time it would take you to find a 2door 1600.
I really like them this one badly needs a new bootlid as its stuffed.
The SR should really make the other one move.
All of the 160Js in NZ are sss so if you do find one atleast you find the best one. If you really like them alot and have got some spare coin you could look at importing this car to Aus i think its round 7K to ship but as a few years go buy im sure the car will inprove in value.

The old L16 in there was shagged aye i could turn it over and over with a 1" powerbar hardly trying.(and 8/10times i needed engine start to get it to go) I do lie though to do 200+ i did have a Rover Tomcar as a windbreak. Did 180-190 by its self though. (need big straight)
With the L20B in it would proberly do the same but it gets there much quicker

And yip all my cars are still in NZ. Depending on how much of a perminent move this is i may look at the costly job to ship them over in a few years time. Im just not sure about getting them road legal etc over here.
