Looks very nice and neat.

100hp isn't too shabby either

And completely off-topic - for anyone interested, this weekend there will be a hillclimb on the stretch of public road where these photos are taken (King Edward Park in Newcastle)

Would have to be one of the most picturesque hillclimb tracks around.

Saturday is a round of the NSW State Hillclimb, Sunday is for the "also-rans" of local car clubs. I'll be there waving flags as an official.

[/ End of shameless plug for Newcastle MG Car Club ]

Nice SX, I like very much!

I'm pretty sure the bumpers are 1980 200B SX bumpers, but they look as though they've been painted black. I can't really see them well enough.

Just curious - does it ever overheat with that cooling system? I'm not trying to be smart, I just hjave heaps of trouble with my 200B and overheating.

Alot of L series get gunk building up around thermostat = overheating. easy fix is take the thermostat out, however then takes longer for car to warm up to op temp, flush cooling system buy new thermostat would be worth a try, unless ofcoarse you have tried this and it is not the issue! :P
my 180 already had the thermo removed when i got it, went and bought a new one and a few months later was worrying everytime you stop at the lights as the water temp gets uncomfortably high  so i took it out again!

with the massive radiator and thermo fan and the fact that i dont have a thermost just meant that i had to get one of those adjustable temperature thingys. (the name slipped my mind).
you mount it near the radiator top hose, a little probe goes in the hose and it has a knob you turn to tell it when to output a signal to a relay to turn your thermo fan on.
the only time it gets remotly hot is when i sit and smoke the wheels for more than a minute.
just one more thing. my radiator set up is engineered. i didnt think it would have to be but the papers i got with the car say so.

Its best not to bother with that. it can be bad for yr motor, as it need pressure in the radiator to increase the boiling temp of the water. And when i did it, it takes about an hour of city driving to get to half op temp. which means you wont have the correct oil pressure. I experimented with drilling different sized holes in the thermostat, but in the end i just let my motor run 3/4 hot.

The later series do have bigger, kinda uglier bumpers, ay. you don't see many of them around tho for some reason.

Question - that hose that connects to your rocker cover breather, where does it go? I have nowhere to connect that up to with my SUs.

Could you post a pic of the redesigned rear end?

Hey L20BEE,
Just wondering how much it cost you to dyno your car at g-force and how many runs you got.. can/do they tune up your motor b4 runs ?

What Degree is the Camshaft your useing?
What kind of Rev. range do you get out of your L20B?

PM me if you like, i just wanna know cos when i get my motor finished i wanna dyno it close to home around Newi..!!

Thanx heaps,

the hose that comes from the rocker cover runs into the front quater into a little cork filter, it should run back into the intake or to a catch can then into the intake. just what ive been told.

the guys at g-force are great, charged $300 total to redo my jets and put it up onto the dyno for a tune, it ran rich a week later so i called and the fit me in straight away and re dynoed it.

as for the torque i have no idea, i just wanted it to run sweet at that stage. i dont think thats a torque line on the dyno graph though.
