Yeah he's pretty pedantic, but I like that. It just makes sure that I have everything done right. I guess for my car though he didn't have too many problems with what I was doing, and how I was doing it.

ok..im now in the market for a new engineer. I generally dont like to rubbish talk a business but after being stuffed around by my engineer, i feel i should comment on my experience. I'll start with a positive and say that he drove out from richmond and didnt charge a call out fee... but thats the only positive. Poor communication, typical "im right" attitude, delayed responses, and lack of interest to finish a job he was being paid for, are just some of the negatives. The most concerning issue was his lack of knowledge of vic roads requirements for vehicle identification and his reluctance to listen when being offered information by more experienced datsun specialists.
So to finish with, thanks for wasting my f'n time and money Rowan! If anyone want more details they can PM me.

ok guys, things are looking good. Switched engineers and am much happier with the service being provided. Good communication and high standard of expertise. Car passed everything except the noise test, so shouldnt be too far away from getting on the road. Will give more details once the car has passed.

WHAHOOOOO.... happy to say that the car has passed all engineering requirements. Just waiting to get the report. Not too bad on the wallet either $700, which is handy considering i wasted $200 on my first engineer. Now for a rwc and reg.

I ended up going with Kevin williams in Plenty, just got his number off the vicroads VASS list. Good bloke, very thorough and helpful without the attitude. I think, through the nature of his work, he has dealt with a lot of idiots in the past, so if you are willing to listen and take his recommendations on board then you will have no worries.
