mmm those tyres look heaps roadworthy :)

So you have a green car with a green engine bay, and you want to paint the bay gunmetal?? If you must paint it a different colour, take a hint from the rally guys and paint it a light colour, makes it heaps easier to work on and identify leaks etc.

take a few photos of the engine bay now before you start stripping it down, so you have some reference photos to go off, if you get stuck at any spot

also before stripping the bay, circle all the holes that are unused, and see what is required to run all the wiring along the top of the chassis rail

fit the coil pack to the rad support

rewire it all, so any visible wiring is moved to under the dash, like alarm & wiring, or fuses/relays in the bay

mounting stuff underneath the rad support, like headlight relays, coil pack, etc, helps unclutter the bay a lot - look at BAD510's engine bay for an example of a clean L series setup

thermo fan

re running the brake lines inside the gaurds, or hidden

many posibilities to clean up the bay

and with all the unused holes and any more you have now after relocating stuff, you weld them up, and smooth the whole engine bay in prep for paint colour of your choice

however i think gunmetal, wont suit the exterior colour unless you use it elsewhere, like painting the bumpers and rims the same colour

cheers guys.
never said im keeping it green now did i. im an app spraypainter so i thought gunmetal in more of a mulit purpose colour so when i do paint it. it wont look to bad as if it were still green.
will most likely do what stoney has said and then some.
