Maybe the combination of his boss and a sexy 1600 is just too much for him  :giggle:

Don't hold back! Actually you do have to work with him. I also work with a member of this forum so I have to be careful what I say.

I should really give him the chance to defend himself. :bringit:

Anyways to get back on topic,
Yesterday afternoon i went to jump in the datto after work, i walked around the back of the car when i noticed that some low life piece of sh*t had half ripped off one of my side stripes, they bent the sh*t out of it, and i cant find the clips that hold it on. Ive straightened it out the best i can but its put a nice crease right in the middle of it.

I just cant freakin win with this car, it just pisses me off that there are such people out there with no respect for anyone else's property.

What is the go with people and good condition old cars or anything for that matter, we live in such a beautiful part of the world and have nothing to really worry us, so its beyond me why people have to resort to sh*t like this

Hmmm, do the strips actually bolt to the car, or are they just stuck on?

Yeah it really gets to me because i try so hard to keep it looking good, it is my daily so i do expect it to get stone chips etc, Ive even copped a smashed headlight from a truck flicking up a rock, i was pissed off when that happened but you've got to expect that sort of thing. Its just the fact that there are people out there with nothing better to do than destroy other peoples property, (get a job).
The stripes are just clipped on, sort of like a door trim clip.

So there is holes in the doors and panels for them, are they aftermarket?

They look good and different, but i wonder if they weren't clipped in what it'd look like without them

Lowlifes. My 200B got vandalised twice in one week at the train station were I park it. How badly damaged is the chrome strip? I've recently found a place in Melbourne who straighten whole bumper bars and re-chrome them for $190 each, and while you shouldn't have to pay for this strip to get fixed, hopefully it won't be too expensive for you.

But I see what you mean. Have they got nothing better to do than than destroying something nice that someone has put loads of time and effort into? I guess some people need to feel big somehow.

Yeah there's a series of holes down the side of the car for them to clip into, and Ive been told they are a factory fitment, there is a car advertised for sale somewhere with the two stripes as well, i did take them off one day to see what it looked like, i didn't mind it but i think the twin stripes make it something different.

Today i had a better go at straightening it, its still not 100% but its good enough for now. I also modified some plastic door rubber clips to replace the metal ones that got lost.
My dad was talking to someone at his work about my car, and they gave him a number of a guy who runs a small business repairing chrome mouldings, im yet to find out how much it would cost to get them repaired, also the one on my front guard that got a bit bent when the truck backed into it is still not perfect, so id probably give them both to the guy to straighten as well.
