. I haven't seen another white one in the Newy area yet, but I've seen a sweet black or dark blue 1600 getting Ramo' a couple of times a little while ago. I've got the feeling it's got an FJ in it.
On another note, I wussed out and got a mechanic to install the cam. When it came out, he found a broken valvespring, AHHHHH! So I've got a set of Performance Springs RR4's in the post. This means that the head has to come off so I need a new head gasket. Because of the 88mm bore, I have two options: Nismo @ $250ish
or a Z24/L20 Frankenstien Jobbie. I'm going to try the cheaper option, and with the change I've ordered an ARP headstud kit. The head bolts looked like they were getting a little long in the tooth anyway.
So, my "little gouge" in the cam has turned into roughly $650 in parts, before gaskets. Luckily I have a very understanding better half, well, more of an eye rolling one!
I figure it's better to spend a bit (Lot) of extra money now and get it done right, rather than half arse my way out of it and hope it works
