D!ck johnson

he is still kicking!

allan jones, he did race F1's

Glenn seaton

wane gardener - surely he could work as a presenter - did 500cc (multiple world champion) and 5.0L v8's

Mark Skaiffe (although his voice will make me go to sleep after 1/2 an hour)

the long hair bloke on the first series was infact an ex racer - but still dont remember who he was

i did a formula ford track day once so i must be an ex-racer too

instead they get people who can kinda drive but their focus is not cars - its about cars and their persona

AAArgh i get so angry when i think about it!

I've seen two episodes all up - and that was enough for me. Bring back the UK Top Gear!

All of the above-mentioned drivers would be awesome, but for what I'm guessing the budget for the Australian Top Gear is they couldn't afford them. So that's why we have a cartoonist, a 'hairy driving instructor' and a musician. But at least we don't have that other idiot from the first season, the wannabee-Jeremy-Clarkson. He was what really turned me off the program.

Although if I'm honest, I am a bit biased. I am English, and to be honest I can't stand the Australian slang that they insist on talking in to make it sound more Aussie.

Let's face it, the thing that makes Top Gear UK what it is, is the presenters. You can't replace Clarkson, Hammond and May with a buch of aussies, get a studio that looks similar, and call it Top Gear. They will never live up to the original version. It's like photocopying the Mona Lisa and expecting people not to notice.
