ended up with 3rd in class. (6 drivers, 5 cars)
best time i could run was a 50.45
another 0.3 of a second would have got me second, and then another 1.0 seconds to first.

pretty happy all things considered, over 3 seconds quicker than before and I still have a bit to learn about the new configurations.

Winning car in class was an L20 1600

Phat -dat i can tell you while i was there he went pretty well, for a car that has borrowed bits and pieces to get it running it was pretty impressive.

I have put some photo's on my webshots album if you want to have a look, under race stuff not only datto's but some of the other car that were there too.

Cheers

LOL the chasis & seat were mine anyway :P

I am uploading some photos so click here

MG Car club will put some photos up tomorrow as well http://www.mgccq.org.au/raceresults.htm

Considering that the engine hadn't even been run until wednesday Ken did a good job to get it all together & driveable.

I had a good weekend, looking forward to breaking into the 49's
Can't wait to try it at QR. :P

Well done Jeff, thats a quick time. looks like the SR certainly helps things along. (my best is only a 52.3 L20)

Alex

Luke, she know not what she's done :!:

Those helmet cams look good, I tested the demo site though and wasnt sure if the video size would be big enough for what we want ?? couldnt hear any sound either ??
http://www.atc-1000.com/

damn they're cheap though !

Alex,

3 1/2 second quicker so far than the previous setup 8)
not sure how much the locked diff would have helped the old L16 as I was having huge traction problems with the stiffer suspension setup. I am guessing that it would have run close to 53 flat or 53.5 with the locked dif, but that still gives over 3 seconds to the SR and I reckon that there has to be another second in the car now, so if only the driver can get his head around it i might run a 49 with a bit of luck :P

Jon ran a 49.5 in that car of Darrens, its a very tidy unit

well done jeff, a good time too hope to see you crack the 50sec barrier in the future but if anything is gonna win i dont mind it being an L20b 510. also going through the pics i noticed that yellow 1600 and im pretty sure i've seen that around a few times it certainly looks the goods.

cheers nath.

The yellow 1600 belongs to Ken & Pauline Graham. Ken does most of the work on my Datsun. I put his suspension in the car and he did the sr20 conversion for me.

I dont think there is any sound but am going to contact them to find out, because if there is then i might 1 or 2. Will let you know the outcome.

The guy from work in his Formula Vee set the class record which is good, glad to see some many people enjoying themselves too.

Good to see your mate did well

I think that you might be dissapointed if there is no sound.
I guess that you can edit music into the vids later, but the actual engine sound makes it so much better.

Hey Jeff,
Yeah I'm well aware of most of the events going on down here... Just not enough time to compete at them all! :(
The Zed is coming off the road/track shortly for some general maintenance, so it'll hopefully be back out by DatNats '07

Haha,
Luke, I spose we are kinda spoilt for choice...
If only it wasn?t so damn expensive down here atm - $150 entry fee for P.I.?

The Hillclimbs aren?t bad tho - It looks like I'll hold the 'Ozdat record' for Morwell hillclimb as its being demolished so TXU can get the brown coal that?s under it - the new track is being built next year tho...
The others I haven?t had a crack at yet - all in due time tho.

I spose if I wanted to get the Vic guys motivated I'd have to start the ball rolling buy entering a few events myself.

Meh, we'll see

/rant off
