got my new gearbox xmember from sw motorsport today aparently my car was originally an auto, also gave my tailshaft a go and suprisingly it fit if it where 5mm longer it would have needed shortning, hopefully its not to tight i would have liked around 15mm play, see how it goes, also finished stripping my tank hopefully weld it over the weekend then tap some threads and off to the powdercoaters if all goes to plan i should be able to try and start it soon :D

update did a bit of work to the old girl over the week

ITS ALIVE, got the datto running tonight which made my day :D

had to pull the gear box out to fit the sandwich plate i forgot  which was quite a job ended up having to drop the drag line and cross member to get the box out

did the intercooler piping and made the new 10mm fuel feed and finished wiring up the PLMS loom(really impressed with Petes work)

just waiting on my tank from the powdercoaters, radiator hose fitting for the water temp gauge, and some fuel line brackets to bolt it up properly and i ordered my throttle pedal/cable from datsport

then next step is tackling the exhaust when my dump pipe rocks up :D

Looks good mate, any reason you didn't re-route the fuel lines?

How come you reversed the pic with the engine going in??

I ran my fuel lines up the firewall. The stock way works well too.
The Fuel filler looks good, did it match up to the filler neck of the datsun one, or are you going custom? I might look into it later on!

got my tank back so got all that fitted up, must say i really like the intank set up, cant even hear it, ive used the pick up>surge>vl pump set up before and it was sooo noisey, this is a dream, i fitted a little swirl pot in there to from an old tin.

fitted the datsport pedal and found some radiator hoses that would work so fitted them. waiting on a few bits to come in then its rego time and time to hit the road :D

Great work, tank looks good. How did you go with the fuel gauge sender and the pump so close?
