Well may be they look at things differently in SA tho rules can be interpreted in many ways.

It is obvious that the rear X member is part of the suspension.
So is the moustache brace.
The whole unit is designed to move & flex.
Nissans passive hicas.

A bit of intelligence is thus being applied by officials in SA.

So we have had a car run in SARC & ARC events with no problems.

Also approval has been given for group NC 16s.

your reference to "I could build a 2140cc grunter and compete in under 2L"
is a definate flaunt of "the rules"

Other grey areas can be challenged.
Common sence needs to prevail.

Howdy all. :D

Attached is a shot taken recently of the Gibson prepared Nissan DR30 taken at the 2010 Phillip Island Classic. Interesting mods to the rear end.

Good lord, why? why? why?
It is a good question. I have the answer:
Because he can!!!
Don't get me wrong, If I was going to do that to a car it would be to something different, but it's his car afterall!!!

What is that about G, a car has only one center of gravity and that is determined solely by the location and weight of its various components. Sounds like you are talking about front/rear weight distribution and/or roll centers, not centers of gravity.
I meant to say mass centroid axis... my bad.

Yes you are bad D :)

Originally I put this topic up because every 1600 I see on the circuit handles sh*t, well not as good as they should anyway. I really have little personal interest in your average 1600 but a big interest in serious circuit Dattos of all sorts, particularly those with semi trailing arm rear suspension. Seems to be a bit like aero improvements on early (S30) Zeds, concentrate on the engine and if I get beaten he had a more powerful engine, better tyres, whatever :blahblah:
