Seriously,

Just when I think to myself "no don't cut my SSS up by putting the flares on it" I look at this car and go "oooh flares".

You have NOT made my choise any easier with your rediculously cool looking machine!

Nice build, however...

I would suggest checking with CAMS about engine capacity if you are planning on running it as a sports sedan.

I know that the ruling used to be maximum engine capacity for multi-valved, turbo engines = 2500cc

FIAsss, You are correct about the capacity, Forced induction piston engine workes out to 2l turbo only for Sports Sedan. For me this is a few years away, so I have a few options RB20 block, or go back to a SR. I'm going to race in non door to door comps. for a while, as I would hate to see panel damage to soon.

The 200b SSS with flares is the way it should have always been.

How about 100kg lighter vq20de rather than RB20de then could use all the vq35 aftermarket gear or no real bonus apart from weight?

Ok, I haven’t posted for a while, mainly because not a lot has happened, Busy with work and family stuff.
Any way I have the Rb30 bottom end all built, and I’m working on the head at the moment. I am fabricating a vacuum rail, so I can get rid of the standard one. It will basically be like a fuel rail, but I’m using a banjo bolt into each port with o ring seals. Also the standard vac. Rail had the cooling system bleed in it, so I have changed that as I’m going to be running a header tank, which the three ports will run too. It’s working out a bit fiddley, but I think it will be worth the effort.

I went for a drive to Victoria and back to pick up a gearbox from Momus, it a 6 speed Holinger sequential, I have to change the input shaft and get an RB bell housing, apart from that it will work out really well, the shifter will be in a great position, and the box is lighter than a standard RB 5speed. I just have to work out the tail shaft, as the Holinger has a fixed output not sliding. Even tho I have independent rear end, I would still like a bit of movement.

Started playing around with making the moulds for the modified rear flairs, I just pulled the mould off the car, and I’m very happy how it has turned out, I made the mould fully flanged, so I can vacuum infuse the resin through the carbon/Kevlar., I have started on the other rear which I’ll try to finish off next week.

Front suspension has me a bit stumped at the moment, I can’t get enough caster with the Macpherson struts, I should have moved the strut towers back when I did the wheel tubs, I thought I would get enough buy moving the mounting point in the tower. I can move the x member forward but it will have to bring the wheel a long way, and be a bit gay. So after talking with Momus, he put double wish bone in my head, So now I’m looking at going that way, and then mount the steering rack in the front as well. I just looking into a few different options of spindles to use, then I probable just fab up some arms.

Not many photos, I’ll attach a couple.

Long time no post, I have been very busy working on customers car and not my own, kind of sucks.

Any way I have had a couple of failures with the carbon infusing, the first was trying something I saw on the net. Bad move the part stuck to the mould, the second failure was a tiny vacuum leek that I could not find, in turn the part did not stay under total vacuum until cured.
Third time perfect, popped out the mould easy and has a nice gloss and the weave looks good.
