Hi, my name is Garth - I recently bought this tidy 120y as a Father/Son project (my son just got his L's). I found this old thread - http://ozdat.com.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=60&t=17167 and it's definitely the same car, still has all the mods described by that OP. The photo's are gone though, not sure if there is a way to get them back? Anyway, here's what it looked like when we bought it - Attachment:
I've built heaps of old cars and regularly contribute to GMH-Torana.com.au and Kombiclub.com forums, and look forward to doing the same here.

Welcome Garth. I'll see if I can find the photos in a backup on the weekend.

No one here lol.... To the Phantom crew where ever you are: I've decided to not continue rego on the 180B as I'm not happy with it in stock form. The engine condition is very iffy due to previous owner's info. I've sourced a rebuilt engine with partly modified components such as, old-school turbo set up. It was never finished & left for decades on an engine stand. I am picking it up this week & will swap back the L18 head as it had an L20 head fitted but that's too low compression for my liking. Ridiculous old-school behaviour. So, I'll be upgrading suspension & brakes way further than first anticipated for engineering down the track. Pay the $4500 ADR testing in the end. Many don't realise this aspect but, it is wat it is. |

Hello to everyone still active on here. I've just started the process of restoring my Dad's 1968 1600. Car is remarkably solid given how long it's sat, but will need a fair bit of love to get back on the road. As it sits: L20b (in need of a refresh) Twin Delorto Carbs Stanza 5 speed gearbox early model 240k suspension + brakes Plan is to restore it to it's former glory as much as possible, but brakes and wiring will need an overhaul. Cheers
