lol you can't stop someone else from bidding on them, but there's no point in making them super expensive for someone else just because they have a higher budget etc. Or maybe they would separate stuff and they just want one particular part etc. Not sure what the other lights are, I'm thinking 430 indicators?

Brown sedan is gone from Centre Rd. Crushed FFS.

I took today off and did the front end with some lowered HQ V8 springs. Nice and stiff. Did the balljoint spacing mod too. Had to remove some material from the complete balljoints that sit above. New high tensile bolts and nyloc nuts. I need to adjust the springs a bit to get the height ride again but it rides a lot better.

I won the auction on the tail lights too. Stoked!

Any idea about the Nissan Urvan 5spd column-shift gearboxes?

That diesel motor was available in Europe etc in the 230 I take it?

If I knew that for $280 I could bolt that in and it would work, I'd probably buy it. But without knowing, I'm very hesitant to spend that cash.

both of those boxes pictured are from the sd22 diesel and ive just realised the starter is on the passenger side so the bellhousing wont fit. (unless the bellhousings can be swapped, but im not sure the 3 speed housing will fit the 4 speed internals, i have some drawings at home but wont be there for a month)
othe urvan came with 2 boxes r4w71 and r4w63. the 63 is the smaller box and i think the only 71 box was the sd22. so maybe no chance there.

Couldn't you get an Urvan with an L-series and 5spd on the column?

Post subject:  Re: Heath's 230 series 260C Wagon

yea, L18. are they the same bellhousing as L6 motor?

got the microfiche for 73-81 urvans. seems they were only 4 speeds.

edit: just realised it dosent show the L18. must have been after 1981.

Ozconnection had a good point about changing from 3 to 4 speed. It wont affect top speed as top gear is 1:1 in both boxes.

Ah fantastic. Did you have the Jap Cop painted 230 sedan?

I realise that there's a 1:1 top gear in both cars, but I can go to a 3.9:1 diff instead of 4.11:1 if I have the extra gears. And it would just make driving nicer in general.

Interesting! I swapped the 4speed gearbox for a 5speed one from a 280ZX, it will make any difference if I use a 4.11:1 differential? What Datsun belongs that diff?
