Nice collection you have there (or rather had). My mum always wants me to get rid of everything yet I have less than half of the cars you did! Hopefully you'll find some more Datsuns to collect :D

The old man has been doing some bits and pieces to the Fairlady lately. Added a new vinyl cover so he can just undo the drivers side and not worry about the roof. He also had some tune work done on the engine and suspension by the original builder Lou Mondello in Melb. Car was dyno'd at 102hp at the rear wheels  all this from a 1600cc pushrod with su's. Turns out the engine is worked bigtime including 300ZX pistons.

Well I didn't even get to go without owning a Datsun. Have purchased another one and a first for me a 260Z. Had no plans on getting one of these but I couldn't knock back this little beauty. Completely original, just the way I like them. Even Lurch is so excited he is coming back from WA

Wont be doing any 'mods' on this one. Starting next week i will be removing all the rear end and painting everything, then take out the engine and detail the engine bay and engine. Replacing all the rubbers as I go. Dont need to do much to the interior as it's excellent. Will post some more pics tomorrow.

how much did you pick it up for? looks sweet :D was down in adelaide end of '07 and went to U-PULL-IT down just south of adelaide, forget the suburb now, but there was one 260K that was sure stripped of everything and anything. could barely tell it was a 260!

Well, perhaps 1.33 times the car anyway (overweight things that they are) :giggle:

Speaking of which, anybody catch the "Z" weight reference in the first episode of "Underbelly" ?

Yeah I seen that. Didn't think it was worthy of getting his head chopped of tho.
Here are some interior pics.

Boy has this been along time between post!
Since buying the Z in Feb I have clocked up a total of 350km. But it was winter and I have slowly been doing a few jobs here and there on it.
First there were the items it needed to get a RWC and then it did not move all winter. But since the weather has picked up I have had a chance to fix-up some bits and pieces.
First engine was removed and new timing gear fitted along with new clutch and extractors and painted. And while the engine was out the front end was removed, sandblasted and painted in a gloss black.

Then it sat for a bit longer until last week I decided to do the rear end up. All rear suspensoin was removed and blasted again finishing them off in gloss black. Diff cover was left in alloy finish with clear coat being applied. While this was happening King springs were ordered to lower it 30mm allround. The original wet legs were redone using Auto trans fluid. New tyres were fitted to some eBay bargain rims that I got a couple of months back, RIKEN VXR's. 15x7 with a bit of positive offset to fill the gaurds.
