hopefully the guy on the phone isnt the guy doing the roadworthy. Its probably cheaper to go down there armed with paperwork and speak to the honcho than getting an engineers cert again. Im not looking forward to going down there either when the time comes... Let me know when you go Simon as i wouldnt mind seeing what goes on if i can. |

Getting to the chief engineer is the way to go. He is ok. First off be pleasant & then ask for his help. ( he responds well to this approach) dont rundown or criticise the inspector. just say that he misunderstood the paper work about it being a turbo. dont mention the brakes. Leave it for him to pick up. just keep it cool & best of luck. |

Don't live in SA, thank christ, and thereofre do not have to worry about regency park which sounds like a fun place but I am sure what Baz says would be correct. I am sure he has more to do with engineers than the rest of us combined. Something I don't envyHe is ok. First off be pleasant & then ask for his help. Leave it for him to pick up. just keep it cool & best of luck. I found being courteous and charming usually works, with anything. Good luck cheers James |

If you still have hassles after Baz's suggestion, I suggest you contact the original engineer of your car and inform him that a transport department is doubting his work as an engineer. I have read of this tactic leading to letters from an engineers lawyer being sent to a transport depo threatening to sue because of their disputing of the engineer being qualified to approve the work. Aparrently the problem was resolved quite quickly. |
