i found it by accident :P
had the ignition on and grabbed the earth.

you should have seen them trying to fix my highbeams.
there were 4 of them trying to figure it out even though i told them it was an earth switching system as opposed to positive, at least their boss understood what i was on about.

oh and they drilled a hole in my dash for a new switch without checking first as well

PS I tried the braided grinder attachment around the top of one of the doors - works well.

Yeah learning more about the track every time :)
I was running softer rebound on the front
and lower rear tyre pressures on the weekend.

I should have the negative camber removed from the rear for the qld champs so with some luck I will get into the 48's. It's a real big leap though to find the magic run to get there !

well the qld hilllcimb championships have been run and won.

the overall winning car was a supercharged vw engined open wheeler with a time of 37.42
with the v8 turbo Mclaren powered Gould imported from england coming second with a time of 37.47 (this is a million dollar car)
fastest sedan was a 2.2 ltr turbo 2 door wrx with a time of 43.87 (which is pretty awsome considering the thing is a road registered import)

35th outright (out of 77) entries was the old n/a powered 1600 with a time of 48.45

The car is handling awesome now !
I made some handling adjustments after practise on Saturday
(clip includes first sunday run)
http://video.google.com.au/videoplay?do ... 6964636542
and the car was just brilliant on Sunday

The gearbox issue helped me find the nuts
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udEvtAqkU_8
which caused only very minor damage

the very next run I put down a PB and class winning time of 48.45
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n5BYfYmjgPs

the class record is only 48.2 so i'm now gunning for it !
winning the 2.0 ltr road reg class was almost a matter of atrition yesterday
the only competition ended up being a fair bit slower than me.

I had a weird fuel lock issue that i need to resolve for next time as well
but it only affected one run which was still under 50 seconds anyway.

Thanks for all of your help with ideas on this car
cheers Jeff

I am hopefully heading to QR on wednesday for a sprint and the first run in the new car. still not running, but we are tuning it saturday so fingers crossed. Bring on the wide bay sprint.
