better change your plates then :P Seriously though, top work mate, can't believe how quick you turned around a potentially event-ending situation. Might have to start calling you Chip Foose with your one-week turnarounds!

Well i made it to the nats! What an effort, car ended up getting painted on thursday night at about 7:00pm, then went home, loaded it up on the trailer and slept for 1.5hrs before the 10 hour drive to goulburn. Took the car up without the front shiny bits, bumpers lights etc off the car and put it together in the caravan park friday night ready for sat show and shine. got the little mods i planned done, the frankenstein rocker cover went on and the rear strut brace is in.

rocker cover mod worked a treat, no blow by after the track day. very worthwhile mod for anyone tracking their sr.

track day was fun but not enough time. snapped a shaft mid corner in third, killed the outer uni joint.

datnats, what a weekend!

looks magic, why did you need to re-paint it though? I must have missed it somewhere in the thread but I thought the engine was the only issue? Top job on the wrinkle paint, that stuff is hard to get an even finish with.

when on the trailer the night before the dyno the tow hook chewed through the tie down and the car rolled forwards (was on backwards) into my ute tray. rear light busted rear bar bent and panel damaged. so panel work was done and front guards were flared and trimmed slightly to take the track rubber. new tail light purchased and bar fixed and rechromed

living on bread water and sleep for a little while now

Leigh,

When are you coming out to play? We were level pegged at 1:57s at Phillip Island. I'm down to 1:54s in the new wheels, keen to see what your (now very tasty) Datto can do.

Here's some 1:54 VTEC 9300 rpm Ozdat hijacking goodness.

There was a guy in an S13 Silvia SR20DET doing 1:49s on the weekend.......

Cheers,

hard to say about the strut brace, i only got a handful of laps in and had made lots of other changes. It definately is a blast to drive!
