I have a 1600 with a R200 LSD.

Firstly, you need a modified "moustache bar". this is because the R200 has bigger, further appart studs, and the the back of the diff sits a bit further back. Maddat (and the like) sell these.

Secondly, my R200LSD had C.V. type shafts which needed to be converted to uni's. 260Z R200 shafts go straight in and allow you to use standard 1600 drive shafts.

Thirdly the yoke (where th tailshaft bolts up) had a different pattern then that of the older datsuns. you have two options: you can either use the yoke from a 260Z R200, or change the flange on your tailshaft to suit. I think my donor tailshaft flange came from a Nissan Navara of some sort. Changing the tailshaft is probably a better option as the yoke is preloaded and is apparently hard to get adjusted correctly... (so i've been told)

will Z-car ones fit? ( R200's)
and I always thought you had to do a little "massaging" of the rear tyre well to get them to fit?

Most 280ZX's came with R200's as far as I know...I want to know if you can put them into a 1600 with the same rear bar ( We have 2 R200's sitting here :) )
