So I have bought another one - this time an S12 Gazelle. It is a series one, not the notchback but the coupe shape, and it has the IRS rear end in it. It is in fantastic standard condition with the notable exception of a bent rod hanging out the side of the block. Picking it up this arvo, and I will get picture up then.

Gonna put a CA18DE(T) in it? probably just as cheap as rebuilding or sourcing another CA20

Not sure just yet - if I can source a cheap CA20 I will just jam that in as a temporary replacement, put some rego on it, and drive around while saving for something a bit more serious. All depends on what pops up.

Olly has a couple of S12s and a s3 bluebird, so he should have a ca20e or 2. You should be able to pick up a ca18de for next to nothing

buy a silvia half cut and any parts that can be used for the $2,000 challenge can be claimed as free parts as they were just laying around :)

Bob, you gotta get the pics up so people can see how immaculate this thing is.

You b--tard.

I won't say how much he paid for it, but it would be possible to put a sr20det in there and still have a contender for the $2000 challenge. Well, a det might be cutting it fine, certainly a de.

Jees, ventilated front discs, rear discs, IRS, 15" alloys... (x5!)...

I guess you just gotta be in the right place at the right time, huh Bob?

Or failing that, have a mate who will 1) send you the internet link to the sale 2) drive you to the damn car to inspect it 3) keep you from making too high of an offer when you get excited and help you talk the kid down on price 4) push the damn thing up your driveway.

Bitter much? no, not at all...

*I am Andrew's overwhelming sense of jealousy*

Seriously though, there is so much potential there. Are you at least going to change your nick to Bob180?

Haha - $250 - what a bargain. Just lucky I had a cash deposit on me at the time mate :)

I took photos this morning but accidentally left them on my home computer, and I cant SSH to it from here. Pics this afternoon.

The honest list of things I can think of off the top of my head:

- Paint chip on front bumper, about 2cm diameter, looks like it has taken a small bump
- Broken sunroof clip
- Broken drivers side window winder
- A couple of really minor trolley knocks on the body
- Busted motor
- Tops of rear seats faded
- Generally needs a bit of a wax and polish

I am sure that once it is running any other niggling little problems will become apparent, but I am still pretty happy. You never know Andrew, once it is running I might even let you come for a drive in it. Maybe....

Gees you're bloody hard to please aren't you! Yeah, I suppose for 250 bux it shoulda come with the sr20det already installed and tuned!!!

Gees, what about the list of things for the trx?
-awesome 3 box design
-forget the top of the seats, the whole paintjob is faded
...

I won't hear any more criticism of the s12. It just makes you sound ungrateful.

Damn s12 owners. They can all go to hell as far as I'm concerned. Bah. Humbug.

*grumble grumble*

Gees, I really need to build a bridge and get over it.

PS pics or ban, hurry up.
