Hi Guys,

I have come across a rare find. The car I have recently purchased is a 78 200B. The car itself looks like it has just come off the showroom floor. It has a genuine 40,000k's on it. Whoever owned the car in the past has spent quite alot of money on it. It has the 300zx diff that has been fitted, 240 5 speed box, and with the meth / water injection it is pumping 25 psi boost.

I have just recently purchased an EFI conversion kit for it. If anyone has a second hand ECU for it, I would be very appreciative of it.

I will also attach some pics of the car. I have only just joined this forum. I would be keen to hear any thoughts or ideas.

Cheers,
Nisbo

what's the big box between the battery and master cylinder?

EFI, should be a much nicer ride once it's tuned, compared to the carby setup

The box you are referring to (Gold one) is the MSD 7A electronic ignition. I have changed it from the old points/dizzy setup to electronic ignition. I did this because when I efi the engine in a couple of weeks, the ECU will need a crank angle sensor. by doing this I then can take a feed off the dizzy and supply it back to the ECU.

If there are any Dato car clubs in Brisbane, I would be keen to join one of them, I think the members would appreciate this car.

Cheers Guys,

Scott!

Hey all,

Well it has been a few months since my last post and I have to say I am happy with the way the dato has turned out. due to time restraints and my lack of patience I sent the car down to Advance Performance Center to have the computer (Haltech E8) and loom fitted. While it was there I had the guys measure up and fit a custom PWR intercooler, Turbosmart E-boost controller, surge tank and a monster fuel pump.

I will rego it next week and then it is good to go. As soon as I find my camera I will post some more pics of it to share with you guys.

I hope your datos are going strong.

cheers
Scott

40,000ks? That's amazing! It looks immaculate. And being an SX, probably worth quite a bit too.

When you find your camera. would you mind getting a couple of pics from the front, around the front spoiler? I have an SX which appears to be missing the front spoiler, and I'd like to try and work out where it goes on, etc.

Good luck with it, I'm a big fan.

Mate no problem at all. I have had a big clean up and just have misplaced it ;)

I will pm you when I find it.

Cheers,
Scott

Hi Riley, yeah she is a clean old girl.....I couldn't believe it when i went to buy her. My mate owned it originally and it was kept in the garage for years. The paint work is original, never had a respray in it's life. If you have read all the above you will see that I have done some work to it to bring it up to today's standards, i.e fuel injection.

Thanks mate, I will make sure she gets the love she deserves.

Scott

I used to own one in the same colour.... well i mean it was meant to be that colour.... all the panels were a different shade, it no front spoiler, and the boot decal was painted over, but you could still see it vividly. Yup, the full gettho look :)
I spent most of my time picking up bits of rust and bog that it would drop everywhere. And i ended up backing it into my house, which resulted in the whole boot/beaver panel collapsing, had to to send the car off to be crushed after that.

I was beginning to think all SX's were in the same state, its good to see yrs is still in its prime... :)

PS. In the near future, I wanna see quarter mile times
