I'd take the needle and seat to Autobarn and ask them to send it back to the company. Have you tried a carbie rebuilder yet? I'm sure they'd have them there, SUs are on quite a few other cars also.

yer, my mate overhauled it and all sweet
one carbie keeps flooding
he put a fuel pressure reg, and dropped the presure, but its still flooding, he put a return line and everything

so it has to be the needle and seat not working
the floats he made up are working sweet, but the needle and seat are causing problems

autobarn are being assholes, i told them that the kit is on the carbies so i cant bring it back, i just need a needle and seat

alistair, what other cars did su's come out on, im guessing i could just match the needle and seat up with another set, and use the needle and seat from that kit

hows your 200b going, the way mine's going, looks like its a 20% chance of going for a cruise at the end of the year :(

I know that XU-1 Toranas came with triple SUs, not sure if the same needle will fit though. I think quite a few British cars had them, such as Austins or Minis. Can you just buy a needle and seat through the company? If you need the car back on the road that might be the easiest solution. Better still, put a post in the parts section asking if anyone has a dead SU they will sell you parts from!

My 200B is going ok, will be getting a DIY respray soon and hopefully some oil leaks fixed. But it's been almost one year since I've had to replace the motor so I'm pretty happy about that!

We should all go for a 200B cruise, perhaps once you've sorted out your carbie troubles...

Try these guys I'm sure they still deal with SU's so you could get the needle and seat off from them.

AutoBarn are useless, only good for brake pads and sh*t like that; I ordered a stealth FM radio for my headunit and left a deposit, they said two weeks max and it has now been over month and a half and still nothing, so if I were you try not to order sh*t from them.....

Give that Nardek place a bell and ask them if they still sell bits for the SU's.

Alex

not sure if you've fixed those SU's but i would highly recommend you call John at Wilson Carb in airport west. This old specialist knows these things inside out. He might charge you a bit extra but you won't be disappointed.

I'm buildinga 200B wagon as an outback rally/bash car. full make over from top to bottom. i'll post some photo's soon

sorry
forgot to mention

just for anyone else who has problems finding them in the future:

autobarn sells needle and seats for 180b sss carbies

not sure 100% of the part number for the needle and seat, but

the major overhaul kit from autobarn is: part no = ht-416x

the carbies are all good

except, the car keeps spluttering

doesnt flood at all

i might change the plugs, leads dizzy to electronic one, coil and fuel pump
when i get the chance

any other ideas what it could be
im gettin over the car, its just sittin in the garage, i hate taking it out, cos i know im gona end up stuck on the side of the road or barely going 40 in a 60 zone

saving up for a ca18det conversion :)

Can you just put your single carbie back on? That will at least get the car driving. You can borrow my reco one when I have my weber going :)

Have you tuned the carbies? Checked your timing?
