Here's my first few attempts at in-car video - a hillclimb and recent track day at Wakefield Park

http://youtube.com/velodavid

I'm still trying to work out the best camera settings. One of the trackday ones is zoomed in a bit too much  .

Now all you need is a camera mounted at the front on your bumper or something. A friend of mine has a few cameras each time he races including one on the exterior and you can hear the engine really clearly and it sounds awesome :)

I have the window down for track days as the car gets pretty hot inside.

Since I did those videos, I've been told that running with the windows up will capture the engine sound better - you don't get as much noise from other cars, wind, etc.

I didn't know that about the windows up? hmmmm

I just love hearing the engine with those vids, just sounds great when it's clear.

Dave, arn't you supposed to have the windows up unless you have a window net? Always the case at CAMS events I enter.

Possibly....

I've only done track days at non-CAMS events so far. Or was the datnats at PI a CAMS event ?

Nobody has ever commented at the hillclimbs I do, which are definitely CAMS events. For these, while you're waiting your turn you usually have a chat to the guy with the timing equipment on the start line so he definitely knows the window is down.

I'll have to find out, as I'm planning on doing the CSCA supersprint series next year.

The cops cant do you for driving wreckless in your own driveway!

The front right corner was in the process of being repaired.

Some uninsured unregistered woman with no licence backed in to it.

Once I had straightened that out, a f#$k*%g taxi driver wrote it off.

Im not sure the C20 vanette I am building will hang out the same.
