Can someone identify this diff fitted to a 1600?

It has 2 small 'fins' on its underside as you can see in the pics.

Cheers,

Cheers,

The numbers on this diff which are unreadable on the pics in my last post are:

213
76 6
t 44

Anyone know what it is?

Standard R160's from 1600's have those ribs.
Any more info like ratio or is it lsd/open etc...

Thanks Nick, I cant provide any more info apart from those numbers and pics i've given. A 1970 1600 that is genuinely 100% standard does not have those ribs on its diff.

Pretty sure all my R160's have those ribs, with the possible exception of the original one from my 70 model (its packed in the ute as a spare for this weekend's datnats so I can't easily check it).

The reason I mention this one is that it is slightly different around the front flange - it has a steel plate rather than having the casing machined and the flange going "around" the casing. Perhaps these earlier diffs don't have the ribs ? Hard to explain, if I remember I'll check it out over the weekend when I unpack at the track.

I bought an R180 has a K stamped on it. Is there an easy way to tell if its LSD?
when i spin the input shaft, they both spin the same way, when i spin one of the half shaft it doesnt really effect the other half shaft?

Nope its open mate. When you spin the half shaft they should both move in the same direction.

If the ratio isnt stamped on the crownwheel.. how do you work it out?
Crownwheel has 39 teeth and another gear in there has 16 teeth?

I just mark the input and output flanges with a texta and then turn the input flange/tailshaft by hand.
With a 3.9 diff ratio for example the input flange should turn 3.9 revolutiuons for every 1 revolution of the output flange/driveshaft etc, making it a 3.9:1 ratio...
