Yeah cheers Green200b, nothing but a Datsun
the plan is (when i get my own house and a good job) 2 more 16's so that makes 3,, then put an SR in one and an FJ in another and leave one L series :D  ..*keeps dreaming*

mmm but yeah.. need to update this ay.

would be good if i had something too update.

Parts I Have:

- Water temp, Oil Pressure, Oil temp gauges.

- 200B struts with magna vented rotors bendex race pads and commo twin spot callipers.

- 17x7 Concept Fives +40 offset rims.

- New/Reco W53 head with o/s valves, 38mm ports.

- Extractors and a 2 inch exhaust.

- ACL Mains & Bigs

Gonna try and assemble the bottom end soonish maybe this week.

Have to go back to work to get some money happening,, then im gonna buy a 72 cam and check the valve to piston clearances and then probably fit the head and try and work out how to dial in a cam..and read racer brown :P .

like i have said, don't get to the car very often.. P'plates soon, will help  .

Things to buy/finish:

- Complete motor.

- Give the gearbox a good clean and once over/oil change, seems to select gears fine.

- Good Heavy-duty clutch.. button or cushion.. ??

- Rear bumber needs an acid clean and re-chrome.

- Get some good bucket/race seats for the front and re-do back seat and door trims.

- Fit struts and test wheel clearance.

- Put indicators and taillights in.

- Double check wiring.

- Tacho and Speedo, most likely Autometer or Speco.

- Possible engineering cert.

- Blue slip and rego.

- DRIVE THE BAR$TARD !!

Lol, will try and get some good outdoor photos and pics with rims and strut/brake setup.

As for the car, looks the same as it did the first time it rolled into the shed.
Trying to work out if it needs a cut n polish or if it has ever had one since spray job.

Will try post some updates.... soon :? :|

Cheers fellaz,

Haha. The dream is always there....

How soon can you get your Ps? My advice to you would be to have the car ready for then, because there is nothing worse than having a licence and no car! I know what this feels like, sitting at home, you have the licence, but the car is broken down in the garage...

I have a 72 degree cam in my 200B, it seems to be a pretty good street cam. Really picks up as the revs get a bit higher, was a noticable different after I fitted it.

As for the clutch, I'm not sure which to go for, depends on what sort of driving you want to do. My friend has a brass button clutch in his R32 Skyline, which is great for him wanting to do drifts. Although if it's too heavy the clutch will start to irritate you after a long drive, so somethimes a lighter clutch is better. I have a stock clutch in my 200B and my RX-7, and both of them can be made to leave a little smoke behind....

As for the paint, after I got my RX-7 cut and polished, it was as though it was a new car! My jaw dropped upon first sight of it. Definately recommend it, worth $100.

Nah, not as yet.

I did take 2 rims to the car to test fit them, but found out there was no jack and i didn't bring one so i couldn't put them on :(

I've gotta get the other strut combo on the car aswell then test them for clearance and spacers etc... i did take a photo on my phone with the wheel sitting next to the car so ill try and post that up. From the photo on my phone i rekon they are gonna look pritty nice

Still no more updates, gotta try and pull the finger out and finish linishing the crank and then assemble the bottom end.

Cheers,

Hey,

Thanks for the comments guys.

The pistons are from Baz, Hypertech T6 86.5mm Flat tops, with the standard stroke gives the motor a displacment of 2022cc .

Was spost to take photo's of the crank after i finished micro polishing it BY hand :| but was to excited and just put it in :) . Crank, rods, pistons have been balanced and the pistons at TDC sit almost flush, just a tad under the deck.

Next is buy a head stud kit and cam and HD valve springs, check Piston to Valve clearances dummy fit head and make sure the valves dont hit or leave any marks on the pistons before i torque the head down. also thinking of getting intake ports opened up to 38mm to match manifold (W53 - small ports :? but with bigger valves :P ). Gotta get some funding in the mean time.

Cheers,

Looking good Steve. Kudos to you for building your own engine, too

BTW, if you want to increase your funding get a trade apprenticeship...
