Yup call randy as above. He's been working these cars for decades.

my thoughts on Randy are not dissimiliar to LAG-510s.
I'm not going to go into any great detail as its a case of each to their own, but my advice would be to come along to a cruise or the upcoming dyno day and meet some datsun folk. Someone will know of a good clean example for sale or give you some tips on what to look out for etc. Randy has very little to do with any Datsun events in Victoria, except for possibly the Rally scene, and from personal experience and what i've seen and heard i wouldn't be to quick to become a "friend" of Randy.
Just my 2c, and i know many other Vic Datsun drivers that feel the same way.

Would be a great idea to come to the dyno day mate. You will meet plenty of Datto nuts and you'll get the right information. I must tell you it will be a bit of a long voyage to find the right datto, unless you are planning a full resto. These days they are becoming hard to find in good nic without spending a bucket load or 2 years + on a resto. Hopefully we will see you at the dyno day. Cheers

Randy is a very smart fella, and the comments made by the two other posters is just crap...

He knows his sh*t, trust me i was there everyday for 3 years building a couple of my 1600's and also my gazelle's (whilst i was on a long holiday from work)

What i did learn from him is priceless and also the support from him the boys was greatly appreciated...

He doesnt over charge, wont discriminate and does the job right....

Maybe he doesnt like to sit there and listen to some tosser rave and rant about how good there car is, or the " I know better" thinkers of the datto community....

Alot people know this or that about various things but can they back it up!!

Dont come on a public forum and say " I dont like him and niether do my mates" it's just plan cowardly as he doesnt waste all his time on the net.....

I remember when james (admin of this site) and CM510 and hole bunch of us went for a cruise years ago, it was pleasant and views and opinions were shared...

It should not matter weather you are fond of him or not. The fact is he has a wealth of knowledge and still has his shop for this very reason. I have delt with him before. While I find he can forget things sometimes I find him and his shop to be reliable and perform good quality work at good rates. I agree he should not be shitcanned on a public forum. It's not fair on him or his shop.
