Depends on how much work you wanna do.
Basically, if you are going to replace the wheel bearings (recommended) just slip the bracket over and bolt on the 4 bolts. If you can't be bothered doing any of that, then all you do is cut the section out to slip the bracket over.
Personally I think it's stronger if you bolt the 4 on.
It's a much of a muchness.

I'd rather bolt it up since the bearing wont have to be replaced once the new ones are in, and yes I do like the idea of having the 4bolts too.

Also if I ever and by that I mean ever want the brakes off I could unbolt everything and bring it back to stock, not likely to happen but is a potential option.

With the weld on brackets you use 2 bolts to line the bracket up and you can leave them in after the welding which is what I did just for extra piece of mind. What ever way you go if you need a hand Alex let me know. I have a big work shop at my new place  . Cheers

Nice, that's less than 15 minutes down the road. I'll have to come and see your cars sometime :)

You haven't seen a guy with a white stanza and a brown 200B parked in his driveway? Should be in your area...

Why buy a VL when you can buy a Datsun?

Because it is pretty much the cheapest, easiest way to make a go-fast turbo car. They may be horrible, but they're easliy replaced once stacked  and it doesn't matter if it's one fewer VL on the road.
