I have decided its time to get rid of the bus steering wheel (well its a stanza steering wheel).
any suggestions for a good steering wheel for a 1600 track car ?
I was half thinking about just getting a stock skyline one (obviously not one with an airbag)

any idea's ?
cheers.

NARDI have a large range of weels for race and rally , can be a bit expensive though!

That is the kind of thing I was thinking of getting.

I was told they bolt straight onto the 1600.
just some messing about with the horn wires.

PM on its way

I see some guys on Silvia forum selling the NArdi wheels for $150 ish second hand.

The R32 wheel is a nice bit of gear - has great feel. I loved it when I had the R32 (mind you, the whole package was very nice all round)

i'd be surprised if the R32 wheel fits the 1600, but if it doesn't I'll take it off your hands for my GQ Patrol Jeff. its wheel is in terrible condition

I had an R32 GTR wheel on my 89 Aussie R31 sedan. Tried it on my 83 HR30 Skyline coupe but the spline was too large. The 81 MQ Patrol had the same smaller spline as the 83 HR30 Skyline - I had the HR30 wheel on the MQ. I'd be surprised if the much earlier 1600 had the larger late model spline.

I've got an R32 steering column sitting in the shed  . A steering rack too  , come to think of it. Might even have a power steering pump sitting somewhere

The R32 wheel should fit the datto. Most Nissan wheels and gearknobs are interchangable, unlike Toyotas. I'm using a 2nd hand MOMO Course & it's great. Nardi are popular too. If you can afford to splash out on a quality item a Sparco alcantara rimmed one would be the bees knees. Great grip, a centre stripe, 2 or 3 spoke, etc.

Sunny for cheapo... But nothing is better than a Momo (Genuine)

The Momo i got is full leather (Fighter series), and the thing just sticks in you hands no matter how hard your driving

My mate got a Momo (Race series) i think for his 1600, and its got a suede real leather cover to grip onto your soft little hands

Not a fan of Nardi... i know drifters use them but they are so gay looking

You totally get what you pay for...

And use a Momo Boss kit others are sht...

Simon
