i've got a 120y coupe standard internals over size pistons, just put a holley g180 on her and she goes well but under hard braking she chokes up n stalls. is this a common thing with the 32/36 g180 carbs? will b putting on headers and pipe soon will this ease the prob a little?

My old cortina was doing the same thing, I found that all those little vacume hoses actually do something, there was a little black valve and a few hoses missing that run from the carby to the manifold, stops the throttle from slamming shut to quickly and makes the engine adle at about 1500 for a second before letting the throttle close after going flat out. Replacing the parts fixed the problem.

Maybe worth checking for missing plumbing ?
