yep, one change at a time, that's the only way to go I think.

On that topic, does anyone have a reference to the best order to effect suspension changes? ie, spring rates, then shock settings, then wheel alignment etc, only in more detail than that?

Sometimes I'm a little vague when asking a question . . other times I just say words and wait patiently for answers!

Try and work out what's the most likely remedy is the usual way to go datsblue. Most of the handling guides around work that way, they state a problem then give likely causes/remedies. If there are several problems then attack the most serious one first.

Of course you could always state your problems here and get responses based on years of experience, training and study :giggle:

lol, state my problems . . no room here or time.

Actually, I guess I am just being quite pedantic with this, but looking at the limiting the causal effect of making one change (i.e ride height) then leads to considerations with alignment (toe, camber, castor), bump steer, bar rate, requirement for a different spring rate to soak up the 'new' travel to bump stop appropriately etc.

AT the moment, I am happy enough with my setup for the rest of hte year, but am looking at changing to 'adjustable' shocks for next year.

yeah I just got off the phone from a mate who also tried to enter and got the same answer. I'm faxing my October entry in today!

The new Kumho KU36's are pretty good from first impressions. They have way more traction on corner exit so I'm expecting a significant time improvement on Sunday. Mind you I had o lip the gaurds to fit the 275/35ZR18 rears - the old 265/35 Federals fitted in there easily. And its in at LEDA suspension today for a 'proper' alignment - ie all the camber and castor we can get on the front and zero toe. Rear end is good - not touching that.

Tell Steve that the saturday sprints at qld raceway will probably be quiet due to everybody being at lakeside.

I'd forgotten about that. I picked up a wheel for the Patrol a while back so don't need it anymore. Thanks anyway mate.

Weather Forecast for Sunday:
Possible afternoon shower/storm Min 18 Max 29

hopefully that doesn't happen till after 3:30 so we get a full day of dry runs. I'm hoping for a big improvement out of these tyres!

entries and groupings are up on QR's website:

Tempting Harry but QR was hot today and I'm in the process of replacing body fluid, .05 could be a problem tomorrow

Body fluid was definitely important at Lakeside yesterday!

Not only was I short on water, but I also discovered that some times, fuel delivery problems can be spurred on by a lack of petrol in the tank! Sitting on the main straight, opposite the control tower is not the place to contemplate such shortages.

Thanks Len, much appreciated.

its a bugger when they hold you up, I am never smart enough to let them get away and do a fast run on the catchup.
