So, whilst I've been gone my father has been turning over the engine occasionally and taking it for an occasional drive to keep it all loose. Unfortunately before I came back the #1 cylinder had water enter it which was a bugger. Fortunately after pulling the head off the damage was very minimal and almost certainly due to just sitting idle (changed the oil and it only did 3617km in 3 years!). So that's all sorted which is great, and thinking about the future. Thinking new carpet, getting the dash recovered and maybe new front seats might make a nice 40th bday present, off to see if I can find someone to fix the booster tomorrow. Glad to be back driving it around! |
