nah Stanza has a live rear axle, so you'd be after a H190 or so?

Why are you setting your standards so low by just wanting to beat a mates VP commonbore, your answer really depends on your budget.

I've seen a turbo'ed 200B running a ford 9", not a mod for someone favouring a cheap upgrade.

A Z box is probably the strongest of fairly easiely obtained boxes, If you can find an option box and have the $$$ to spend, that would be best.

Budget wise, possibly a H190 diff if one could be found that doesnt need shortening, an L 6cyl box would be a cheap option for a 5 spd.

If I was to spend bucks on a major rear end upgrade for mine, I'd get a falcon B/W 78, strong enough for what I want, but still small enough that it doesnt sap 30hp making it turn.

How does a H190 go about bolting in? Any welding, moving braces etc? Or does it go straight in? Are they LSD and much stronger? What are they out of?

Cheers

i think the h190 are out of the gazelle nissan model.
i don't know if they are on another one or not?

they are pretty much just a bolt on. (to stanza'a)
i think some are lsd, the lsd one's would be of commercial nissan's.

the h190 diff's are really strong and they are suited for stanza being live rear axle.

hope i helped.

Use the complete rear end out of a gazelle as yes they do bolt in - and you can even pick them up with rear discs . They are slightly wider than the standard stanza axle tho ........ Oh and remember that some gazelles had independant rears when you go shopping for one - ask for a solid rear axle !

I picked up a H190 (ex gazelle) from a wrecker complete for $150. Mine had a drum rear end though, but did come with rear sway bar attached :D

Did you have any problems with bolting it in? Does it just need the rear swaybar? Are they off any other cars except gazelle? Year? Will any H190 diff fit, or does it need the gazelle sway bar attached? Sorry for the questions, I think this will be my next thing to do, and I hate changing diffs, so if it's too hard I won't bother.

Cheers

Michael

I Have a stanza coupe and should be getting a stumpy skyline gearbox and a l20 engine soon, with the diff is the gazelle whole rear end the best i gather and how else can i get rear disks another way,

and how much wider is it, I have 1600 steering arms in the front which give it more track will it be about the same or wider and then should i get bigger front control arms in the front if I do get the gazelle rear end,

I have just spoken to someone who know what he is talking about when it come to stanza's and I am told that the gazelle rear end is way to wide and really their is no need for a h190 unless you have 200bhp or want to waste your time, but I suppose if you are dragging it is fair but I just want a diff for road use.

Although they do exist, you will not find a H190 LSD, so don't bother trying :( (yes I am pissed off at my open wheeler H190 and the lack of ANY LSD's out there.:x )

at the moment i only know of one diff that's strong and can bolt up to the stanza. (with only small mods) and that's the H190 diff.

are there anymore STRONG diff's which BOLT UP to the stanza?

r200 and r180 wast of time and money for me.

if the H190 diff is too wide then im thinking i want something else but what!!!

who has actually done this mod on there stanza, anyone from the forums.
