i think i have decided to stick with the a12 and put some motor bike carbs on it :evil:

il be looking for some soch honda 750 carbs with mechanical injection!!!!
il need help with the manifold and il be on the look out for a GX head

they've been used on 4AGE's with varied success
i'd get ones off a 1000cc engine i reckon
or you could buy new ones from user on here "Green510"
he's a bit of a gun with finding cool sh*t on the internet
pity he's selling out of datsuns :shock:

yeah they make the same if not more power and need half the yearly tuning of a pair of dell's

Awesome good on you mate, would love to use bike carbs on a motor at some point, theyve got an awesome sound :thumbsup:

yeah i think im going to get a twin dell manifold and keep the end that attatches to the engine and custom make the other end to the carbs.
then theyl need to be rejetted and i can then go about finding me a cam and some flat top pistons!!!

Make sure they are forged pistons and conrods. that way, they'll never break.

I didn't know a12's were OHC???

Yeah they're push rod engines, but don't tell anyone lol

Nah they're still pretty good engines, always heard good things about them except power, but why not just drop in an L series in?

they're not expensive and are easier to find parts for and has been done many times....

the a series can put out some interesting power figures and can be built to with stand 11,000rpm :twisted: ,seen a couple 150rwhp a14/15 motors :wink:

Are you sure that's A12 motor, or is it a 12A?

a series datto in a 1200 coupe,this was one that raced at bathurst,got the mag somewhere,il see if i can find it :wink:

fast fours and rotaries mar/april 1993,the 73 factory prepped 1 of the 2 1200 coupes featuring a a12 was clocked at 129mphat a claimed 11,000rpm,the datsun turned out a fastest lap that year of 2:58.7,a time equal to the '68 winning 327 gts monaro :twisted:
