Just curious as to how rare the factory tacho equipped dashes are, I see the manual lists the wiring as "where fitted", but I personally have never seen one, were they a 200B SX only thing?

rgds Eddie

Anyone got one the want to photograph (or sell ;) )

as far as i know the tacho dash was a SSS & SX item only. possibly anyone ordering a new 200b could have opted for a sports dash i suppose.

i think the 200 b was the same as the 180b in so far as sports dash was only available in imported models sss or gx & so on

i have a 180B SSS coupe dash in my sedan.
all sedans in oz came with that marvellous clock that ticks but doesn't go anywhere.
only the coupes and a select few GXs got the tacho dash, and i think those GXs are imports.

Next question, do I need to modify the tach to work properly with the electronic ignition. 8)

yep only the sx and the sss came with tackos... the sss dash has the 2 big holes (speedo and tacho) + 4 smaller holes (oil, water, volts &fuel). the sx had 3 big holes with (tacho, speedo & fuel+temp)

And no you shouldnt have to modify the tacho to work with the electronic ignition.

i'm having trouble getting my tacho to work.
i hooked the power wire from the clock to the power wire on the tacho (same connection) and the other wire to the -ve side o the coil....but to no avail.
anyone? how do i get it to work?

pro240c, AFAIK, that power wire also feeds the cigarette lighter (does according to 200B schematic, 180Bs may be different), try running a new wire, just run it out the door and into the engine bay to coil -ve (for testing purposes) and see if that works.

I'm not bothering with mine until the weekend, so let me know if you find a solution (I may need it ) 8)

My new one must be an SX version!

How many wires are comming out of your Tacho??
What colour are they?
I'll see if it close to the same setup as the factory tacho I fitted in my 1600 wagon a month ago.
