the roof linning is a little loose and wrinkly at momment but once i glue in around the front screen, around the pitch weld in the door jams and the sun gets to it, it will tighten up.

ok,3 months since an update,(I blame GT5,over 150,000 kays of racing done so far)

bailey channels and side windows fitted, taillights cleaned up and fitted with new gaskets, grill, headlights and chrome all on.new weatherstrips and window squeegees in,door handles fitted, bages, ariel on.

starting to look like a car again, just bonnet strip ,wipers and mirriors to complete the outside.

I have made 4 new door trims and in the process of restoring dash top using the left over black marine vinyl i used on doors.will do the rear parcel shelf and kick pannels this week too.

As usual, cant upload pics as i using my ps3 and dont have a computer.but i will try to get some up soonish.

Just bought another 1600 with a turbo L20b with a genuine 219 big port sss head(looks rebuilt),full cage,240k struts/diff for $580 of ebay,bloody steal,not much rust either. :cheers

did you manage to get the windscreen In? I had mine sitting outside for 1.5 years, then had the car on its roof and all the panel beating, and my screens went in without a fuss. Used new rubbers, and they were a bit loose but when pulled in, they went in fine. I have a bit of a tutorial on my thread if you still need to take a look? Just used cheap twine stuff for the rope, worked a treat!

wow now fitting a screen like that i bet that was fun.
I use a rope the size of bootlaces and there is stuff like windscreen soap to ease it in easier it may be in a worng groove or too much muck around the seal even not cleaning the glass inside the rubber makes it hard to fit in and i have used a rubermallet on toughend glass tapping lightly all the way around.
so what is the colour of this 1600 it looks good

front windscreen is in alot better now.the rubber was newish, just needed a scrap out again, had some little bits of hard tar in it.

I have finished recovering the dash top, came up sweet.found a 69 sss dash too with original radio :woohoo: .
my thoughts are now to fit all the sss badges and steering wheel too,as i got few spares.

I will be going to the mines soon,so i should be able to wrap it up and get it on the road when i come back.
