Toby,

To give you an idea on costs.

EFI fuel system. (typically done with a lift pump, surge tank and high pressure pump) Say $200?
ECU - Sprint 500 new is $1000. I recently bought a used one for $600. They have an internal map sensor.
Injectors $200
Coils $100 Used - $300 new
Sensors (Ign Reluctor, Air Temp, Water Temp) $80-$100
Tuning - $300-$500

Moving the ECU from a factory car probably won't work and will probably cost a similar amount to make it work. For example, where would you put the air flow meter? How would you retune those ECU to suit your engine dynamics?

Do it properly, save up, and fit something stand alone. Don't be tempted by 'cheap' second hand microtech ecu's off unknown engines either!

I may be willing to donate a ECU to the cause. Looks like a good project!

I have got a Wolf 3d V3, hand controller and basic loom
Also have a surge tank

You would just need a EFI manifold

If your interested all i would want in return is a set of standard late model front lower control arms for a 1600

quik update,
I have polished the tapperd cover up,real shinny now.I have used the same datsun 1600 cover for the past 13 years on every donk ive built, its a bit like my lucky charm

Spent 3hrs cleaning old paint of my gearbox with the wire wheel.Greased fork pivot and throw out sleeve. Then it took less then 2 minutes to slide box under car and onto motor with the 4 main bolts in,think i broke me record :)

Been tinkering with my 2 different turbo manifold set ups,not liking there placement for a efi set up.So have decided to make another exhaust manifold that sits turbo lower.
forgot to bring the camera, pics next time

Little update,
Been busy with alot of things lately,so not much has happened lately on the 69.
I have purchased some steam pipe and steam pipe mandrels,t28 flange and cut a flange of some tired extractors,To make the new turbo exhaust manifold.
Going to weld some injector bungs into a su manifold, well a good mate of mine is making a custom carbon fibre plenum with vn throttle body to bolt onto the su manifold .
I grabbed one of my chopped 1600's to make a dummy engine bay,to build/chop/weld the manifolds in.Dont want to risk scratching up the eng bay in the green car or get weld splatters.

Also i have wolf comp to run it now...A HUGE THANKS TO LAMPY FOR HELPING ME THERE  :D

Soon as this rain stops,im gonna bolt a dummy l20 into this dummy bay and get this manifold soughted...

I have also brought some new sss side vent emblems, mite wait till its closer finnished before fitting..

Hey dude, good to hear an update from you. I hope to come up some time this year with a shopping list of parts. Not a whole lot has changed with our car, just little bits and pieces so it drives a bit better.
Let me know if I can ever help you with anything. Wiring and electronics I can do.

Been busy on the datsun again,
Have had a bit of a break from it and have been setting up our new exhaust and customising shop with a mate in caloundra..

I have the car in at the shop now,so i can get some more done,Went back to the stock 69 dash till i have the car soughted and going then will be going back to the sss fascia..
fitted up the rear sway bar and drilled all the holes back out in the bonnet to reattach the chrome mould...rats had been using it as a home for a while ,so my new door trims had became a bit of a meal for them :x so I have to remake a couple, also got some new clips to fit them too..

Last few days i have been building the turbo manifold, got it al tacked up last night ready to weld on friday when i get some filler rods for the tig.. Then onto the efi manifold..
