Although I can't find any info on it my girlfriend spotted a prairie like the above one with datsun badges. |

60 from memory. Came with a pile of fancy / official loking paperwork (all in Japanese, so I don't know what that was about), and very low mileage. |

Spotted this 280Z at Phillip Island on the weekend. Had a chat to the owner and he said it's the only one in Australia.
Those US spec bumpers may be heavy but then again i pushed a 1984 cutlass supreme across the coronado bay bridge with my Z when he broke down and i did zero damage I also rope towed several buddies with a rope and the rear bumper, and also pulled a jeep off the beach ( i was on asphalt and had a long chain) again not a scratch on that bumper lolIt was imported from the US and he managed to save about 90kg by removing the US-spec bumpers! Also, it wasnt just the bumpers thAt made a US spec 280z a porker. The doors on mine had thick side impact beams, it came standard with the R200 rear as well. Also, it had the l-jetronic EFI and frame was reinforced to cope with those massive ugly bumpers. With all that and factory AC my 280 was flirting with 1400kg...which is why the bumpers were so massive. The US bumper regs of the time specified that the car could suffer ZERO damage (both cosmetic and structural) if it was driven into a brick wall at 5mph. It sure was fun watching my friend anna try to muscle over that non power steering when i lent it to her (she was a petite lady) |

Ooh that gearbox makes me cringe. But in datsun tradition it simply will not leave you sit. I had a D21 that i drove 25,000 miles on a bad gearbox and when it finally did go i was able to get it into 4th and get to work, then back home! It never came out of 4th again but it got me home!Rear of grid start, as did not qualify the car, Finished fourth o/r, set fasest race lap time, and new class lap record,,,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fy2kRv6IH0U&sns=em Great driving btw, and love that engine sound! |

Nissan Homer Ute carrying a AH Sprite & a Marque Sports Racing Mini Moke: Imagine how fantastically slow it would have been! And my Nissan C80, 3.5ton truck: I drove it the 3.5hrs home from western Victoria with no brakes! |
