Ok guys, need your honesty here…

At the start of the week me and a mate picked up a triumph 2000S, thankfully that’s the last time you will hear that name from now on

Anyway, on the way to pick up a car trailer I spotted 2 datsun coupes, wasn’t sure but they looked 1000-esque. I was gonna go ask the guy to have a look but yesterday my brother said he saw an ad in the local paper. It read 3 datsun coupes for sale. Before I knew what I was doing I was talking to the bloke organising to see them, IRONICALLY it was the same 2 I saw earlier this week, plus a muck around Datsun.

SO, for $250 I picked up a running (not that straight bodied) 1000 2 door coupe, one complete, lacking some interior but mechanically is all there (body COMPLETELY STRAIGHT AND NO RUST!!) and a body 99% straight with no rust and no engine/gearbox.

Plus a few spare windscreens and the sort.

Did I get a good deal?

ok, im gonna make 2 out of 3, the man who sold me them has a mate with a complete turbo kit for an a12 which i might be able to pick up cheap as chips..

just a question, is a "De Luxe" coupe special at all?

I believe they came with a few extras you wouldn't find normally, however I'm no expert on datsun 1000's.

It sounds cool though. I take it that it has the De Luxe badge on it?
