I have this crazy ambitious idea of us organizing a trip to tassie to drive the fantastic roads it has to offer us car enthusiasts.

I have always wanted to do it myself with a few mates, driving the targa roads during the day and getting smashed on beverages of all types at night talking about everything and anything and of course cars. Never got around to do it.

So here i am putting an EOI to all you Ozdat boys and girls. Would anyone be interested? How long do we need to get organized? 6 months? more??

Would we do a week trip or just a weekend? Most of us work or study so getting time off is obviously one of the challenges, as is coming up with a date that suits everyone..

The logistics of the whole trip is gonna be very challenging but i am happy to have a crack at it if you guys are interested..

So post up your thoughts, ideas, yes or no's, whether you think it can be done or if i am just a dreamer..

Cheers 8)

I know a few people who'd be up for it, not just in datto's though.

If it's just a weekend trip I'd be up for it, although it will take a lot of organising. Great idea though!

That sounds like fun.
Never been to tassie but always wanted to go. What better way to explore the "map of tasmania" than in a datsun.
Maybe find a long weekend and have two nights in two different hotels. The days could be filled by cruzing round on some twisty mountain roads and drinking beer at some great country pubs

I can point you in a few ditections for some good twisty roads. Depending on how many days the trip is depends on how many palces you could go. You could do a week trip and follow the Targa Tas Stages or if it was just a weekend you could maybe do the Rally Tas stages Have a look at these web sites to see the stages I mean.

http://www.targa.org.au/Course.html

Im sure some of the Datsun Owners Of Tas members would give a helping hand to.
