Now I know what to do with the off cuts from the front guards when I put the Mazda 323 flares on the front. Should let me put 15x7's all round on the sedan race car. The early & late guards differ in their length as the late nose is slightly longer, & where the guards bolts to the lower apron, as the lower apron differs between the front end styles. I tried to put a front apron from an early model onto a late model coupe & it would have needed major changes to the ends.

ok jordy here is a few i took tonight with my phone

i am going to join this up to the roof now that i have removed the gutter
[ img ]

i have now filled up the massive rust hole and the holes for the aerial
[ img ]

filled in the gaps on the rear wheel arch...this time with a welding helmet
[ img ]
[ img ]

and i cut this out of the rear where the bumper would sit and now have to replace that, should be pretty easy but also have to get rid of the rust on the other side
[ img ]

i did do more but the light is gone and i have to look after my girls so you wil all have to wait, but i still need to join the inner gaurd to the new wheelarches which wont take long but i think i need to remove the diff for more room under there

couple tips when welding ,
use less wire and more heat to get the weld to melt in.
Tack your piece on,make sure its sitting right then put a tack every 1.5 inches.to fully weld it,get the spot hot (glowing red) at the weld then stop with the trigger then hit the trigger again before its stops glowing.keep doing this and your welds will be more penertrated and flatter.you will only get a 4-12 mm before stopping each time to cool for 1-3 second before hitting it again.keep moving around the area only doing a inch at a time,to allow the panel to cool so it wont buckle.give it 5-10 mins of cooling time after every few minutes of welding.a wet rag also helps to keep the panel cool

i know how to weld it just the mig welder i am using, the wire either doesnt come out or goes too slow, the wire feeder doesnt work that well but thats what you get for a cheap welder. I would have loved to get the good welder from work but if anything happened to it i would get reamed so i just dealt with what i had. penetration all the way through just doesnt look pretty. im not fussed just have to grind it down so meh

housten we have a problem...at the moment i am having real hard time finding all the parts i want here in perth and with the lack of funds i cant ship any second handys here to perth. My work cant order any new ones from amlaysia as they have no stock and wont replenish it till there is a minimu, order of like 20 of eachpart i need damn it. so the sunny might be back on the shelf for a while....i will still work on it but will have to wait for something to come up for sale here in perth or parts are ade available...not happy jan!

i need a few things like the scuttle panel, bonnet, front fenders and a drivers door. The boot i can get from here, its just freight is a killer for the parts i need. But i mainly need the scuttle panel and the front fenders
