They seem fairly soft but still gay that they lied to me :(

I have 2 fitted to 14x7 hotwires and had to fiddle the rear alignment to stop them scrubbing on the rear, compromise will probably be ~2.5deg rear camber to make them fit.

that is a bit poo, id complain if its not what you are after. are the khumo's any good? neg camber on the rear aint such a bad thing, i think im running about the same.

Not sure if the kumhos are any good, they are 50 treadwear so theoretically twice as soft as R888 I had before. LOTS of people have had delamination problems with them, some after only a few hours use. I was hoping newer tyres may have been redesigned, but I have received old ones :( I got them because they were a few hundred $ cheaper than getting dunlops, and a better size (195/55 rather than 185/60). I got tirerack to shave and heat cycle them so I could bolt them on and go, with shaving there is fk all tread left so I cant drive them on the street.

Rear traction has never been an issue for me with semi slicks, so I don't think neg camber will hurt me too much :)

Hey mate, bummer on the 15's. Ive just put the same tyres on, 225 rear and 205 front though. They seem pretty good on the few laps around the block i have done. Obviously not up to temp though. My uncle runs them on his 911 and rates them. Whast happened to the new 2871? I thought you said you got one with the cams? And no e85?? soft... Im going to head down to Wakefield for a tune session in a few weeks, ill let you know.
Andrew

Tyres ended up costing $920 posted ($120 of which was optional shaving and heat cycling).

I ended up deciding on a 2860RS instead of the 2871r, will still give me all the power I want. And yes too soft for e85 lol, current setup should give me 200+ rwkw on 98, anything more might upset my R180 rear :P

Are you going down on the 14th? If so I will try to get down there for a run.

Finally making some progress :D Currently getting another wheel alignment to fit 195/55R14 tyres and 14x7 2P wheels, as well as new longer and stronger tie rods (previous ones are a bit bent lol). Also booked in for a tune next week, hoping to crack 200rwkw finally and will be happy with anything over that

I'm looking to finish the local hillclimb and motorkhana seasons in the datsun (16 events in 12 months) and I have a open practice day at wakefield on the 9th, drift day on the 23rd and datnats on the 24th, so the car should be getting plenty of track time in the coming months :D

I have been driving the gf's micra recently while the datsun is in progress, and loving it, below is video of my fastest run at the local hillclimb.
