Happy New Year Doug.

I am swapping the L20B into my 710/160J. (Comes from the 610/180B) I already got the SR20 for my 180B. The 710's L18 needs work, so it will receive new life with the L20B which is in A shape ( extractors, Weber 38DGES, Canon high flow intake manifold, 5 speed, cam.)

How much more does the SR20 weight against the L20B? Want to calculate spring rates.

Will the 180B sway bar work? or will I need a new bar? I see your 200B has a different one, wonder if the 180B will be same case.

Wish you had a video to see this wonder moving and roaring.

:cheers

I see. The springs I was using with the L20B were 175lbs I believe.

That bonnet looks different like the chrome on the hood is a continuation of the grille ,Then on the guards the eyebrow moulds arent there like our 810 has and the front panel looks different around the grille and parks/indicators.

I see. Same process that would take using the 2000GT front end in a 180B. Apron/valance, fenders, hood.

As in the case of the 2000GT/180B, the 810/200B has a difference in lenght of fenders. Those would need to be cut and reattached ......some surgery to take a section off the 2000GT or 810 fender and reattach parts. ( or use the front section of the 2000GT/810 fender and attach it to the back section of the 180B or 200B, whichever project we were dealing with.)

Quite an enterprise.

:cheers

I believe that all of those 810s you have pictured about are six-cylinder models, so the front wouldn't fit the Australian 200Bs. Car is coming along well Doug!

Indeed car looking awesome.

I second that comment. Nothing compares to that moment of ecstacy when another driver in a modern car tries to pass you as if you were some piece of road kill. Much to his/ her surprise, that is either impossible or quite difficult ! :D

Noice !

Hi. Nice car and great to hear you are happy with the engine.

I am building an Autec S15 SR20DE vvt Datsun 1600 rally car and am interested in what mods you would recommend? Basically I am not planning on doing anything to the engine; save for a better exhaust and air cleaner. The computer will be standard Autec.

What exhaust size and air cleaner would you recommend/did you go for? I have autech extractors but will probably just use "Stewart Wilkins Rally" extractors, as they are purchaseable off-the-shelf made for a 1600. Looking at prehaps a 2.5 inch mandrel system.

I will probably be aiming to put the air cleaner on the driver's side. Why did you put it on the passenger side - more room re relays on the 200B??

Hopefully I can get around 115rwkw out of it. Heard great things about the SR20DE vvt- strong and heaps of torque for non-turbo. I am not allowed turbo under the clubman rally class.

Any useful tips would be appreciated. A few others on this forum looking at similar SR20DE engine replacements.

Cheers

Mark
