What's up Doug !

Following from the rafters.

My 610 is about ready. Going overseas for 2 mos ( Jan & Feb.) but as soon as I come back, early March, 610, aka 180B! will be rolling.

I got a nice SSS dash board myself. Being my ride a LHR vehicle, need to adapt it to LHD. ( I have not seen SSS dash boards/ clock/gauge clusters in LHD configuration.)

I have to cut and split the center 3 small gauge cluster from the large clusrter section, and invert its display, the 3 small gauges need be located to the right side of driver in the LHD Datsun. Thinking about doing that ( no choice ) but since the small gauges are directional ( facing the right hand side driver ) and would be facing a passenger in a LHD car, I will have to make a custom 3 small gauge cluster for the center section.

Brainstorming

You're right. After surgery on the plastic I may cover the black face in thin black leather so it will look smooth.

I would like to get a second SSS gauge cluster just in case. I also want to try mold it in fiberglass. In case something goes wrong, it would help to have a second set of everything.

Let me know if you come across one of these SSS clusters, complete with gauges.

Working on my 610 also. Brakes done. Suspension in. Spray paint done ( eons ago  )Used wrong size fuel/gasoline hose and it begun leaking upon starting....got to correct that, then take it to the alignment shop, then the muffler shop for a complete exhaust extractors then on.

After that I got to go overseas but upon return, all I'll have to do is put all the trim/lamps/rubber on and ready. Once on the lift I will also change all fuel hose under the car and at the fuel tank area.

Got to see your "B" rolling, the "German" sedan. Once I saw a German Datsun catalog and they had a sedan, I think it was a SSS Sedan with that tail lamp set up you got. It was forest green and had black window molding.

Amazing how Nissan has so many, but I mean soooo many variations on each model, you end up finding out that in some countries around the world same cars with different details appear all over.

What I have yet to see is a LHD SSS Dash. Only RHD SSS cars have the round gauges. LHD SSS models have the squared ones......unless there are some LHD round gauge SSS datos somewhere yet to be discovered.

:cheers

Howzit.

Not easy to meet online, we are 10 hours apart I believe. It is 7:30pm over here, perhaps 5:30am over there??

I will get some photos these days ( about my 610 ) and post them. Will open a thread.

Make sure to get your camera out with you on the maiden drive.

I got myself one of those "Hero" mountable cameras. Once on the road, will make some videos. Not many good videos on 180B/610 rides.

Cheers.

Howzit.

That is cool. Since those SSS clusters happened in Oz, let me know if you find one. I am 100% into one set.

Good videos have been ordered!

That is awesome dude.

Looks fantastic. One of a kind. Nice bumper bar. Those bumperets look brand new. Are those still available?

The reflectors, where did you get those? My bumper bar has the holes for those, but the refletors are just a memory, burnt plastic.

Your "B" is coming along pretty great. Sucks I have to leave town for 2 months, my ride is almost there too.

Your 180B deserves :hail:

Cheers

Thanks fellas i made those reflector brackets and used narva reflectors and rubber seal.
I copied the jap bluebird style. I also rebuilt the over riders and remounted the bolts inside again. and the bar is rechromed and sandblasted steel bar mounts. inc new bolts i couldnt help myself :P

I took it for a fang tonight i got interesting understeer at around 45 mph into a corner using the ds 200b struts and 240k twin spots im hoping its just wheel alignment it seems noone knows how to do this sh*t properly these days. with my old ones i had 3 differet tyre places with different read outs. so im gonna take it to some guys who did my 200b with my ds r31 struts
